This semester has been one for the books at the Naveen Jindal School of Management — literally. I am pleased and excited to announce that our Online MBA program was ranked No. 1 in the U.S. by Poets & Quants, a publication devoted to covering business schools. That’s not just among public schools; that’s overall, another indication that our School is now recognized as one of the very best business schools in the nation.

Students, faculty and staff at the Naveen Jindal School of Management gathered April 9 in the Davidson Auditorium for the 11th annual Outstanding Worthy Leaders Involved Exceptionally (OWLIE) awards ceremony.
The Jindal School is introducing its new Healthcare Management Area at an ideal time to take advantage of rapid developments in the healthcare industry. The initiative will complement the school’s six other academic areas to stay ahead of the industry’s rapid evolution.
The 3rd biennial edition of the Ann and Jack Graves Foundation Conference Series was held Jan. 12-14 in Kumasi, Ghana. The first two in 2021 and 2023 had been held at The University of Texas at Dallas, but conference organizers decided to move the event this year in alignment with the mission of the Sustainable Global Business Initiative of the Ann and Jack Graves Charitable Foundation and the Center for Global Business.
Last fall, for the first time, more than 6,000 women — 42% of all students — were enrolled in the full-time MBA programs of the 61 member business schools of Forté Foundation, including The University of Texas at Dallas’ Naveen Jindal School of Management. Member universities saw nearly 15,000 MBA enrollments that semester. In addition, a record eight full-time MBA programs, including the Jindal School’s, achieved gender parity, meaning 50% or more women were enrolled.

This past April, the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board approved the Naveen Jindal School of Management’s proposal for a Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity and Risk Management. The program will be offered beginning fall 2025.

The Naveen Jindal School of Management presented several high-profile, high-impact academic conferences this spring in which it gathered thought leaders to discuss the most pressing problems and emerging trends in both industry and academia. Many of them focused on artificial intelligence, and others concentrated on sustainability and uncertainty.

This past spring, UTDServ Voyagers took to the road for the first time, offering a one-week immersive volunteer opportunity for Naveen Jindal School of Management’s undergraduate students to complete 40 of the 100 hours of volunteer work required for their graduation. Beyond knocking out a significant chunk of required hours, students worked with organizations they otherwise wouldn’t have known.
That undergraduate students have a 100-hour volunteer service requirement is not new. However, it’s important to note they are not left on their own to figure out how to complete this requirement. Two Jindal School organizations work together to help undergraduate students fulfill this obligation. Dr. Dorothee Honhon, Jindal School associate dean for sustainability and societal impact, is chair of the school’s community outreach committee.
Aryan Sharma’s senior year has been a whirlwind of successes. The business administration student at the Naveen Jindal School of Management was named to the Dean’s List this past fall, placing him among the top 10% of all undergraduate students. In addition, after completing two successful internships, one with global investment bank and financial services firm Goldman Sachs, he will begin a full-time job as an analyst with Bank of America in July. This comes after receiving full-time employment offers from both. Sharma’s successes belie the challenges of his freshman year.

We are deeply saddened that Charlie Hazzard, who joined JSOM in 2006, passed away on Dec. 16, 2024. He joined the Jindal School as an adjunct professor and later became a clinical professor.
