Welcome New Faculty
NEW FACULTY
Assistant Professor, Operations Management
PhD, Business Administration, Harvard Business School
Research Interests: In my research I aim to design, improve, and evaluate trustworthy operations. This includes two streams of work: calibrating employee trust in algorithms for more effective human-algorithm collaboration and inspiring consumer trust in company operations through more effective corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives.
“I’m very excited to join one of the largest Operations Management groups in the country here at the UTD Jindal School! Something that really attracted me to UTD was the depth of incredible behavioral operations management research that happens here, which is supported by resources like the Center and Laboratory for Behavioral Operations and Economics (CLBOE). I’m also excited to be a part of such a large and vibrant business school that supports so many degree programs which means I have the opportunity to design new classes for diverse groups of students like Applications of AI in Supply Chains which I’ll be teaching in the spring. It’s also wonderful to be a part of the larger DFW community and to get to connect with local companies doing interesting things in operations management.”
Professor of Practice, Information Systems
PhD, University of Minnesota, Minneapolis
Research Interests: I’m focused on preparing technology leaders and practitioners with the skills needed to be successful in industry. Research interests include AI in Business, Commercial Real Estate and Supply Chain Tech and its impact on industry.
“Flash back 30+ years ago when I got my doctorate in Computer Science (Thesis on AI in Design) when AI was more a research area than a viable technology. My interest in applying these promising concepts to solve complex real problems took me down the industry path. But back then, I made a promise to myself that I’d come back to academia at some point since I loved it so much. Recently, I have been wondering if the time was now. With that in mind, and with the sage advice of an esteemed colleague, I tested this potential move back to academia by taking on an Adjunct Faculty role at the University of Texas at Dallas for the Spring ’24 semester. I loved the experience, and it convinced me that the time was now, and so, I have decided to jump in with both feet!”

Research Interests: My research focuses on how people can successfully navigate career changes and transitions in today’s fast-paced job market. I study how professionals can use project management techniques to plan and execute major shifts in their careers. This includes exploring ways to set clear goals, manage risks, make data-driven decisions, and continuously improve skills.
“I’m thrilled to join the UTD Jindal School faculty to share my diverse experiences spanning IT consulting, entrepreneurship, and academia with students. My background in leading strategic projects for Fortune 500 companies, combined with my own entrepreneurial ventures, allows me to bring real-world insights into the classroom. I’m passionate about empowering the next generation of business leaders by bridging theory and practice, and I believe the innovative environment at UTD provides the perfect platform for this. I look forward to collaborating with colleagues and students to drive impactful research and prepare graduates for success in our rapidly evolving business landscape.”
Assistant Professor, Marketing
PhD, Marketing, Stanford University
Research Interests: I use pop culture settings to study generalizable marketing and economic phenomena. For example, I have used the behavior of Twitch streamers to study advertisement disclosure and NIL in college football to study labor market sorting. Methodologically, I use economic models and theory to study behavior in these settings and to predict what would happen in an “alternative universe” where different policies are implemented.
“I’m really excited to be at JSOM! I get to join a world-class marketing group that has one of the largest cohorts of tenuretrack junior faculty members and is one of the most productive research groups. Since UTD is so young and growing so quickly, I have a unique opportunity to make a large impact on the Marketing Area’s (and JSOM’s) research reputation moving forward. Lastly, my parents moved here about a decade ago and it’s nice to get home cooking once in a while.”
Associate Professor of Instruction, Finance and Managerial Economics
PhD, University of Pittsburgh
Research Interests: My primary research interests lie in empirical industrial organization and revenue management. I’m also working on some research questions related to financial economics and labor economics now.
“My husband works at JSOM. I’m joining JSOM. Our entire family belongs to JSOM.”
Associate Professor of Instruction, Organizations, Strategy and International Management
PhD, Industrial Organizational Psychology, University of Houston
Research Interests: Applying new ideas and technology (e.g., a game-based assessment for hiring) and analytical techniques (e.g., algorithms) to better predict employee success and retention.
“After 30 years leading strategic human resources, organizational development, talent management, talent acquisition, and learning teams in retail, tech and aerospace, I am excited to join the talented faculty at the JSOM. My family is happy to move home to Texas after Amazon successfully lured me to Seattle five years ago. Please reach out if you share interests in game-based assessments for hiring, the tech-enabled employee experience, workforce planning, talent acquisition or people analytics. Take a look at my new book, Becoming a Talent Magnet, just released from Oxford University Press and available on Amazon.”
Assistant Professor, Finance and Managerial Economics
PhD, Duke University
Research Interests: Monetary policy is central to stabilizing economic growth and inflation. Financial markets are also now the most important channel through which monetary policy can be transmitted into the real economy. So, these facts motivate me to conduct research to better understand how monetary policy affects the financial markets to help monetary authorities optimally design their policies.
“I chose to join the UTD Jindal School faculty because the finance group here is both strong in research and vibrant in its diversity and energy. This environment is not only beneficial for my professional growth but also enhances my daily life with its dynamic and supportive community.”
