Charles (Chuck) Best, a member of the Naveen Jindal School of Management Advisory Council, died peacefully Oct. 5, 2023. Best, who was born in 1931, was the head of several investment firms. He served on the boards of many companies and nonprofits. He is survived by his wife, Gertrude, his daughters and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

“Chuck was a longtime, loyal member of the advisory council,” said Dr. Diane McNulty, associate dean for external relations, communications, and corporate development at the Jindal School. “His consistent presence at meetings and role as an advocate for JSOM will be missed.”

Dr. Hasan Pirkul, Caruth Chair and dean of the Jindal School, said Best was a good friend and made a difference in the school.

“We will miss him and remember him fondly,” he said.
